The Cosmic Dead – The Exalted King

September 11, 2012 by A.S. Van Dorston

Nearly as prolific as Ice Dragon, Glasgow’s The Cosmic Dead have four releases in just over a year. With their preferred format being cassette tapes, and influences rooted in space rock (Hawkwind) and kosmische (Can, Neu!), they are definitely a band outside their era. Three tracks clocking in at over 70 minutes, their latest The Exalted King takes its sweet-ass time to worm into your brain through your ears and lay some alien eggs. A dark, bad trip worth exploring if you’re made of the right stuff. They’ll be playing Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Holland, April 20th.
